About Elliott Tree Logistics
Starting in the late 1970’s as teenager, the Owner, Howard J. Kelley, worked for a handful of wealthy property owners in West Hartford CT. He was brought along at the right hand of these owners as property assistant and errand runner. They were known as the carriage trade back then.
In the early 80’s, as a 21 year old, and having such good connections to lean on, he moved to the greater Boston area to become the manager of a farm/estate owned by a multi generational Boston family. Here he operated in a management and operations position renting houses, land and managing employees and contractors. A dream position if their ever was, he remains friendly with the family to this day.
In the late 90’s and early 2000’s he went onto manage larger properties and become a real estate broker and small business owner specializing in real estate, marketing and business operations. He went on to start or purchase over 6 businesses and consulted with many, many others. He also served as a storm volunteer after the Tornado went through Sturbridge MA.
After selling his businesses and moving to the Cape and Florida in 2015, he thought he was mostly retired. In 2017 he was called in to help at Elliott Tree temporarily, when their bookkeeper had passed away unexpectedly. Elliot Tree is owned by his wife’s son. Howard sold Elliott Tree its first pickup truck and lent it a chainsaw over 25 years ago.
After reorganizing this business, he began to see there was an industry need for sales, operations, materials, financial and equipment support. So a new business is born.
In creating this new business he melds the consulting world of helping owner operator small businesses with the management operations, their byproducts, like logs, timber and equipment, purchasing, leasing and helping coordinate emergency tree services. He works with the wholesale and retail customer.
